Was treibt Sigmar Polke, dieser Proteus der zeitgenössischen Malerei, nicht alles mit einem Bild. Er arbeitet mit Rastern und deutet Flecken, er verwendet bedruckte Stoffe und nutzt allerlei Muster, er macht das Bild zum Objekt und setzt ihm chemisch oder alchemistisch zu, er malt und sprüht, schüttet und agiert auf großen und kleinen, blickdichten und transparenten Leinwänden. Er startet seine eigene Rasterfahndung und lässt sich von Höheren Wesen befehlen, er macht aus Gummibändern, die er über ins Bild geschlagene Nägel spannt, einen Dürer-Hasen und durchstöbert das deutsche Wohnzimmer ebenso, wie er auf der Suche nach Motiven ganze Bibliotheken durchwühlt……
